Recent Adventure

I'd like to share with you the incredible journey I've embarked upon, one that has taken me to the heart of Idjwi, a hidden gem in the vast and beautiful Democratic Republic of Congo. My story begins with an invitation from my dear friend, Barry Wecker, who introduced me to a world I couldn't have imagined – a world of community, culture, and hope.

Idjwi quickly became a place where I felt truly at home, a place I've returned to twice already, and a place where I've forged deep and meaningful friendships. The journey to Idjwi is an adventure in itself, culminating in a 45-minute boat ride that delivers you to this remarkable island. The warmth of the welcome is my favorite memory – smiles everywhere, joyous singing, and a sense of belonging that transcends borders.

The beauty of Idjwi is truly beyond words. The landscape, the lush flora, and the deep waters paint a breathtaking picture that words alone cannot capture. But, as is often the case, there is more to this story than just the beauty.

It's evident that amidst the beauty and warmth, there are needs, challenges, and opportunities for growth. This is where my journey took a new turn. I've taken it upon myself to initiate projects and raise funds to support the wonderful community of Idjwi and Prolasa, an organization that works tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of the Pygmies and their neighbors.

While it's true that we might not be able to solve all the problems we encounter, we can certainly try, and we can make a difference. It's in this spirit that I've committed myself to various projects for the community and Prolasa.

Internet for Idjwi - Education for All

My mission is to provide reliable internet access to the Prolasa School and University, ensuring that students have the tools they need to learn, explore, and grow.
